Wat kunnen wij doen als Rotariërs (individueel of als club):

Rotary biedt u enkele mogelijkheden. In tegenstelling tot de meeste grote hulorganisaties weten we zeker dat minstens 90% van uw gift ook effectief terecht komt bij de slachtoffers, dankzij ons Rotary netwerk.

- U kan persoonlijk of als club het Fonds Rotary Belgium van de 4 Belgische Rotary Districten steunen. Deze middelen zullen de 4 Belgische Rotary Districten rechtstreeks toekennen aan projecten ter ondersteuning van de slachtoffers van de aardbevingen in Turkije en Syrië. Voor elke gift van meer dan 40 EUR ontvangt u een fiscaal attest. Voor deze gift ontvangt u  geen Paul Harris Fellow. Klik hier om deze gift online te doen!

- U kan persoonlijk of als club het Disaster Response Fund van de Rotary Foundation steunen,.  Dat kan via een gift aan de Koning Boudewijnstichting. Het Disaster Response Fund is een fonds van de Rotary Foundation dat zeer snel middelen voor noodhulp ter beschikking stelt bij natuurrampen.  Dankzij het netwerk van Rotariërs kunnen deze middelen snel, doeltreffend en volledig worden ingezet voor eerstelijns noodhulp in het getroffen gebied. Voor elke gift van meer dan 40 EUR ontvangt u een fiscaal attest. Voor elke gift van minimum 1.000 EUR ontvangt u een Paul Harris Fellow.  Klik hier om online uw gift te doen!

- U kan Shelterbox financieel steunen door een persoonlijke gift of door shelterboxen te financieren.  Er zal immers op korte termijn een enorme nood zijn aan tijdelijk opvang. Shelterbox biedt onderdak, essentiële goederen en technische bijstand om de meest kwetsbare mensen te helpen bij het herstel en de wederopbouw van hun huizen na een ramp.  Klik hier voor meer informatie over Shelterbox.

- U kan Ziekenhuis Zonder Grenzen financieel steunen of met hen samenwerken voor een project. ZZG komt tussen op twee manieren: door het aanbieden van speciaal ontworpen noodkits in urgente situaties en/of door het schenken van materiaal voor de heropbouw en uitrusting van de getroffen ziekenhuizen. ZZG heeft momenteel 10 emergency hospi-kits ter beschikbaar (Algemeen en medisch en chirurgisch materiaal, 90% van de heelkunde op het terrein. Geleverd in een ​metalen koffer. waarde 4.800 EUR per kit)  Klik hier voor meer informatie.

- Als club kan u contacten leggen met Turkse verenigingen in uw gemeente en met hen samenwerken om noodhulp aan te bieden.  Zij hebben mogelijk goede contacten ter plaatse. 

- U kan contact opnemen met Rotary Clubs in het gebied. In Gaziantep zijn er 7 Rotaryclubs en 3 Rotaractclubs.  Klik hier voor hun contactgegevens.

Onderwerp: Urgent appeal to Rotarians

Dear Global Rotary Family,

As you all know, Turkey was hit by two consecutive huge earthquakes on Feb 6th, 2023 early in the morning while people were sleeping. The earthquake caused around 40,000 deaths; more than 100,000 injured, thousands shelterless. Many buildings, homes, schools, hospitals, government buildings and main roads collapsed or severely damaged.

Turkish Rotarians from Districts 2420, 2430, and 2440 have been working on the most affected areas since the first hours. We have established a three-pronged disaster strategy. The first pillar was urgent and instant needs, that is, basic needs. We distributed more than 50 trucks of materials, we sent construction equipment, built tents and provided food and so on. The second pillar, the container city, will be established with cash donations collected in our district. Container city is not a job that can be finished in the short term, so we still continue to build tent cities with the tents we received. The third pillar is global donations. We intend to fulfil the various needs of the container city we will establish, such as health services, education, hygiene, etc., with several global grant projects.

Three Turkish districts are coordinating all these works hand in hand. However, since the earthquake area is within D2430, our district is leading. The three districts founded a joint commission who is evaluating the long term recovery project proposals, collecting information etc.

Thankfully, many districts and clubs, individual Rotarians have been sending their donations and goodwill wishes which help us to stay strong. We have so many things to do. On behalf of DG Emre Ozturk of D2430 and all Turkish Rotarians, once more, I invite you to stand by us and show your fellowship by making donations.

Every help is appreciated…

This is a lifetime tragedy. Including 10 cities the land affected from 2 earthquakes ( magnitude 7.7 first one the other occured just only 12 hours 7.6 ) is the same size of Germany…

14 million people affected. 

More than 12.000 buildings collapsed. 

İ am afraid the loss ratio will increase hour and hour because of cold & snow.  

You can contact with 3 districts in Turkey.  

Mine is District 2440 i am the DGE of my district.
